Reaction to the news that CBS will air the movie Grease to fill the empty time slot from the delayed the Tony Awards hasn’t gone over well with theatre fans. Many were hoping the network would replace the delayed award ceremony with something that celebrates the theatre industry.

Thankfully, there are other ways we can celebrate what would have been Broadway’s biggest night and a New York-based choreographer has put together something quite unique.

Jason Wise, whose credits include Bayside: The Saved By The Bell Musical and the TV series Smash, has curated a Youtube playlist for theatre fans who are yearning for something that celebrates the history of Broadway and the award that celebrates its brightest.

It includes acceptance speeches, performances, and even commercials from the past that aired during the ceremonies. I’d tell you what’s exactly on it, but I don’t want to ruin the surprise.

The best part is, it’s three hours long.

Yes, you can spend what would have been the run-time of the actual awards ceremony by taking a trip down memory lane to see what made this industry so great.

I’ve already watched some of it and had to stop myself because I want to save it for June 7th.

Thank you, Mr. Wise. You just made that Sunday a whole lot better for many of us. The video playlist is linked below.
